October-November-December

Before you know it, Christmas will be here. Last year I wanted to try something new, and cheap, so I handmade all my gifts.

I made this for my step-mom with stuff I had lying around. It's made from a glass milk bottle (milk we drank); torn pages from an old book of short stories, applied to the glass with a few layers of Mod Podge and finished with jute wrapped and hot glued around the lip of the glass. I stuck some twigs in it just to see what it looked like. I was pretty satisfied with the finished product.
These are scarves made from two old, large t-shirts. It's no sew even! There are videos on YouTube that explain how to make a scarf from a t-shirt. It's very easy and only involves some cutting. I used jute to hang some charms that I purchased to finish it.
Both scarves and this letter H were for my cousin Hannah. I purchased a wooden H at a craft store. I searched online for a mossy oak pattern and printed it out, very cheap! I applied it with Mid Podge and finished it with a few feathers and twigs. The feathers were purchased at a craft store, more options and cleaner that way. The twigs were found at a local garden. I added a string of jute on the back so it can be hung on a wall.

I need to come up with some ideas for this year. Christmas will be here before I know it and I don't want to get overwhelmed!

Finishing touches

I made a skirt, per request, for my hair stylist, Jennifer. It's the same material I used for my own skirt earlier this year. I was happy that I was able to find the material that she wanted. All I need to do now is make and add a drawstring, and finish up the bottom hem.

Building

Let's see what I can build with Blogger.
